Crafting Lady's Dream Day Part 1

I've decided to make this a two-part post today because there will be a before and after to this awesome day (if it ever gets started.)

So, I'm running around my house gathering all the materials I'm going to need for this awesome day, and stop in the middle to posty post.  :)

In an effort to better my life and myself, I've adopted a few things and trying out some new stuff to help the process.  I'm never any good to just sticking to plans without some sort of reward, and as I was parousing through the internet one day, I stumbled upon this article (literally, I used StumbleUpon,) and I think I have THE plan.  I found another one with graphs, but I can't find that one right now (As in, I'm much too lazy to look it up right now.)  So, I printed up some calendars, learned that the new (knock off brand, WHO WANTS TO PAY $30 FOR INK??) cartridges I got weren't the best around, so I didn't really like them.  But then, as I was searching this morning for that article, I found this and now I'm hooked.

So, the idea from Jerry Seinfeld, apparently, and basically, you mark a big X on a calendar when you do something productive.  The way the article broke it down made a lot of sense to me, he basically has a set amount of time to do things in, and instead of doing all of one thing in one go, he breaks it up so things aren't so pressured.  That's something I've had a problem with as well, so I was very interested.  I started by breaking down the hour into 4 segments of 15 minutes, like he did, just to start.  So, I broke down that "power hour" into four sections, Cleaning, Exercise, Learning, and Crafting.  I need to get more things cleaned up more consistently, and I HATE using my one day off a week cleaning my whole house, I'd rather spend that doing nothing or playing video games or something less... responsible.  I can do most chores in 15-20 minutes, or a combination of things.  I have a whole list of things broken down so the whole house is clean in that time frame.  Exercise, I'm starting slow, and 15-20 minutes is better than no minutes.  I give myself credit and will increase the time as I get more involved and need better results.  But I think this will be a good starting point.  For the Learning portion, I wanted to spend hours and hours a day reading and doing brain work, but it seems I have little attention span for things sometimes (especially lately) and this is another gateway into the world of studying for fun for me.  And finally, the crafting portion... Oh, excited.  Whether that be any phase of the process from design to photographing, or even doing a tutorial, or anything about making stuff to promote creativity, my brain working and maybe even making a little money.  I'm going to be very lenient with myself at first, but as I continue, I'll learn more about these processes and figure out what exactly I'll need to do to make things work for me, instead of me working for them.

But on to what today will be.  And this totally counts to my crafting portion of the "hour" which will be like the whole day.  (Also why I'm doing other things before I go to still mark off that big red box!)

Boyfriend's mom has an awesome addiction... shopping for craft supplies.  SO basically, she wants me to come over and help her make a bunch of shit and go through her pile of materials and "clean it out" which means I'm bringing a BUNCH of bags with me to bring home some really nice new craft materials.  I LOVE having this opportunity. She buys some really nice shit, for real.  She spends her time on Michael's and other craft store websites looking for coupons, and bead store Groupons and all kinds of other fun stuff.  I'm SO looking forward to this.  I have tools and stuff I'm bringing with me, some pliers, my hemp and board, etc.  I'm just waiting for my ride to wake up and then come get me.  :)  Which... is boyfriend.  :D

CAN'T WAIT TO POST PICTURES AND OTHER FUN STUFF ABOUT WHAT WE DID.
